About the Artist
Statement & Brief Biography
The canvas is my own universe, my own playground.
Working on a canvas is, in a sense, a microcosm of our life experience.
There are times of elation and times of doubt and despair, but once
committed to the work, there’s no turning back.
It’s about perseverance.
I search for that place of communal consciousness.
When successful, the painting suddenly resolves itself
and I’m free to move on to another canvas.
There’s a 1st level mind, it sees what’s up front, the pictures,
and then there’s a 2nd level mind, it sees and feels the passion behind
the images. This is where I’m going with my work, I don’t stop until
I get there. It’s like a “heart sutra”, stitching your heart to what is real.
